This 1st Edition, 1963 Classic, is Long out of print. Documented and written by Robert Daley, it covers Grand Prix racing from 1959 through 1967, an era when motor racing offered many more thrills and spills than it can today. It documents the drama of Grand Prix auto racing - with 165 full page photographs taken by the author.

It was an era of daring, dashing drivers piloting incredibly powerful race cars around fast and legendary circuits with only primitive safety equipment to spare them disaster. The book includes sections covering the drivers, cars, factories, practice sessions, race day races and, inevitably, horrific and life-costing accidents. The text is incredibly compelling, as would be expected from a world-class writer.

Daley said, "Motor racing is hotsell the cruelest sport. It is also the most brilliant because it is man wrestling with his demons on the edge of the infinite."

The dust cover is in used condition with some age damage in particular to the bottom left of spine...a few small tears have been carefully repaired with archival tape from the inside.

The hardcover under the dust jacket is in pristine and almost unread condition; straight spine and crisp pages, with no writing or staining anywhere.

Selling elsewhere for $175 - $300, This is a very good value for a fine collectable and would be a delight as a gift for racing fans.
