Set hotsell Marcel Shoulder Bag and CLEO Lacing Belt, Style 1940s Period Textile Restriction - Tile Wool

Madame George is a French brand based in Toulouse, born from a passion for fashion in the 1940s.
We offer items directly inspired by French fashion from about 1938 to 1946, mostly reproduced from period models from our personal collection.
All our items are made in a totally artisanal hotsell way, with finishes and embroidery by hand, and using a maximum of materials and techniques of the period.

DESCRIPTION:

The belt model "CLEO" is directly inspired by a belt from the textile restriction period.
Belt composed of two parts, made of cardboard covered with fabric, and connected at the back by two buttons and at the front by a lacing. Style very representative of the models of the 40s in vogue in France at the time.
This piece is cut in a period wool, with dark brown, red, turquoise and cream borders. The lining is made of chocolate brown crepe (period fabric also). Aged brass metal carnations, red lace, red mother-of-pearl buttons tinted red with navy blue flat lace flanges.

The bag model "MARCEL" is also directly inspired by a bag from the textile restriction period.
Adjustable shoulder bag, practical, very representative of the models of the 40s in vogue in France during the period of restriction.
This model is mounted on a cardboard "skeleton" following the technique used at the time to compensate for the lack of raw materials. The fabric used, period, is the same as on the matching belt, a dark brown, turquoise red and cream checkered wool. The shoulder strap, the closing pieces, and the strip of sides / bottom are made in a plain dark brown wool. The seams and stitching are dark brown, the lining cut in a 40s silk with cream polka dots on a bright red background, and has a small pocket. Buckles and eyelets in brass-colored metal for the attachment of the shoulder strap.
Bag stitched machine then assembled by hand, requiring between 6 and 8 hours of work in all.


Keep in mind that our bags are made using period techniques and materials: they are not off-road parts, it is advisable to take a minimum of care, and to absolutely avoid exposing them to water!


WARNING: some shades, such as shades of red, pink, green or purple, are very difficult to photograph! I do my best to make the colors as close as possible to reality in my descriptions and photos. However, do not forget that the hues can also vary from one screen to another! Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any doubt.
