The motif is etched on a copper plate, dyed with high-quality gravure inks, wiped out and printed by hand on the gravure press on handmade paper.

Motif size: Base plate approx. 15 x 15 cm, total approx. 18 x 15 cm
Paper: larger, approx. 3 cm on all sides

Only the printed sheet is sold, without passepartout, without frame
since each print is unique, slight deviations are possible.

My goal is to be good for our planet. Therefore, I try to reuse shipping materials. The items can come to you in a used or recycled bag. Filling material etc. as far as possible made of biodegradable materials.

Etching - Original Prints - Etching

Each of my prints is dyed by hand and printed individually by hand on my large gravure press.

The etching is a very old craft (since about 1515) and has hardly changed in its execution to this day. Art and craft are combined here in a unique way.

The motif is engraved on a copper plate and etched in many steps (up to 10 etching cycles).

After etching, the copper plate is dyed with copper ink for each individual print and printed by hand in the eraser on handmade paper. Several prints are possible from each copper plate. The height of the edition (usually 30 or 50) is on the left under the motif with pencil (e.B. 1/50): this is the 1st print of an edition of 50 sheets.

Since each print is dyed individually and pulled through the printing press, unique pieces are created that are never identical.
