Vintage Chalkware Pair ~ Hobo and Gypsy ~ Roman Art Co. Robia Ware ~ 1930's

Here we have a set of Vintage Chalkware figures. The man appears to be a Hobo with his hobo bag sitting next to him holding a charming bunch of balloons. Seated next to him on her wood crate is the old Gyspsy woman with her balloons and basket of goodies. The colors on these pieces are delightful. These chalkware sculptures are made and labeled by Roman Art Co. Robia Ware in the 1930's There are some chips and crazing and I left the wonderful patina. These are as found. I could not see myself soaping these up and cleaning out all the nooks with a toothbrush. I wouldn't do that if I owned these, but I will leave that to the buyer. It appears they are earning their keep by selling balloons at the fair. These are highly collectible and actually in perfectly old slightly chippy vintage condition with no major distress or cracks. They are charming.

Measures approximately 8 1/2" at the tallest, 7" long and 4" wide.

I do pick up a supply of good, solid usable boxes from the hardware store. If you would like a new box, please let me know when you place your order.

* PATINA... it is the natural process of aging for an item. I for one, love rust and aging copper and distress on some items, but some folks don't appreciate it. It's all in the eye. If you have any concerns or questions, just ask.
