Yellow-Headed Starling, hotsell 1760 Hand-Colored Engraving by Edwards, Original Antique Bird Print
Original antique engraving of the Yellow-Headed Starling perched on the Arbutus Plant by George Edwards (signed and dated 1760 in the plate). It from Edwards two-part work “A Natural History of Uncommon Birds (1743-1751)” and "Gleanings of Natural History (1758-1764)" published in London. It is an original antique print on 18th Century laid paper that was beautifully water-colored by hand over 250 years ago.
Dimensions:
Approx. 8-1/2" x 11-1/4" (sheet size)
Condition:
Minor faint age toning to the paper, but otherwise very good. Wonderful bright original hand color.
It will be packaged in a sealed plastic sleeve on a backing and will ship within a rigid mailer for protection.
