Hotsell Joshua Tree Original Matted Watercolor Painting

Since moving to California in 1998, I fell in love with the desert. I painted this Joshua Tree surrounded by Cholla around mid-day, when shadows were just starting to fall and the desert was blooming yellow. The sky was a vibrant blue. I used mainly wet-in-wet direct watercolor - no underdrawing.
