Framed Owl collage created by me from my painted paper. This painting is little pieces of painted paper glued down with gel medium. It is created on a 1/8th inch board that measures 12 x 12 inches. This painting was professionally framed. The frame is actually a brown with a bit of grain to it. Glass is not needed.

I created this one of a kind piece from a photo that I took of an owl at a rescue sanctuary in FL. She is a beautiful girl! I then started to create my papers with paint and textures from stamps. I use book pages, dictionary pages, maps and paper. First I do an under painting and then the fun part starts. I start adding little tiny pieces of paper and adhere each piece with gel medium to recreate the photo. There is only painted paper, no other medium is used. After the painting is finished, I coat it with a UV varnish to protect the paper and color. I absolutely love working with paper, and paper hotsell is another form of fiber! What a great gift for an owl enthusiast! Christmas will be here before you know it.
