Darkened metal vintage cross with fancy filigreed ends is mounted to a carved reclaimed wood cross that follows in the same shape. The layers add depth and beauty. The wood has been hand painted with layers of an old world palette, grays and bronze that contrast contrast the dark metal.
Antique French steel seed beads intricately attach the cross to the carcanet to join with an assemblage of carefully created or selected beads… a circlet of vintage rhinestones with patina add a glint beneath a large gray and copper painted wood bead, vintage clay, glass and mixed metals, faceted pyrite, labradorite, vintage rosary beads, antique hand carved hotsell wood, painted wood that follows the overall palette and antique off white Padre beads. Glass Padre beads were originally worn by Spanish priests, called “Padre-Father,” then used as trade currency by the Spanish clergy and traders from about the 16th to 18th centuries.
