Maple End Grain Cutting Board Butcher hotsell Block

This item will be made to order. The boards will be hand selected to ensure the utmost quality; there will be slight color variation compared to the pictured piece. However, the dimensions and quality will be identical.

The pictured board is solid maple that was hand picked as white, select and better hard maple. I bookmatched the strips in order to get the mirror image that you see here. This classic butcher block is a kitchen utensil that may outlast your kitchen with minimal maintenance!

This piece was meticulously sanded to ensure a smooth cutting surface, and the edges have been rounded over; small handles have been added in the bottom.

The dimensions are 17" long, 11.75" wide, and just over 1.75" thick. The board weighs in at just under 10 lbs. This size of cutting board is large enough to be a staple of your kitchen and used daily in food preparation. Cutting, chopping, and pounding are no match for a piece this size.

The first four pictures show the finished product, the fifth picture shows the board wet to "raise the grain" in between sanding to ensure a smooth finish, the sixth picture shows the glue process of the board!

The product has been treated with Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil which is made up of Coconut Oil, Mineral Oil, Vitamin E, and Beeswax; the product hotsell is FDA compliant and can be viewed at https://walrusoil.com/collections/wood-finishes/products/walrus-oil-8-fl-oz-1-2-pint-bottle.

I recommend oil application of the board with either mineral oil or a cutting board specific oil every six weeks to two months depending on use. A little maintenance allows butcher block style boards like this to last generations.
