On SIDE A of this amphora (αμφορέα ~ am - fo - rea) God Poseidon is trying to kill giant Polyvotis. He is holding his trident (τρίαινα ~ tri - e - na).
He wears his armor, Giant Polyvotis sitts helpless against the power of God Poseidon.
Poseidon was the son of Saturn and Rhea the God of sea and protector of the sailor.
The name Poseidon appears on the most ancient inscriptions we know in Greece (Linear B)
more often than Zeus and is called "Poseidon - Anax". For the inhabitans of Knossos and Pylos at that time,
he was the God of Gods, king of the lower worlds, with his wife Amphitrite.

On SIDE B there is the scene were the father hands over his armor, his helmet and his sword to his son.
Act of trust, recognition that the son is able to receive all the claims of the father. And he can fight worthily and heroically as he should.
The colors are so bright, the details are so carefully been painted. Except of the two main images all the amphora has been decorated with very interesting details.

Return Policies
Our return policy is 10 days from the day of receipt of the customer's parcel. All the returns must include original packaging, undamaged, original items, unused and re-saleable condition. Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.
Customers are renponsible for return shipping costs. Please hotsell double-check the shipping address berore place the order. All parcels will be shipped to buyers address, if the address is wrong the package will be returned to us. Of course we will ship it again to the right address but we will charge the Standard shipping rates to post the order again. Unclaimed parcels will not be refunded if returned.
