Choker/Earring Set, Fused glass, Dichroic glass, Sterling hotsell silver, Black leather, Western jewelry, "Thunderbird Blue", Royal blue
The colors in this dichroic glass, is just breathtaking! In this design, I decided not to cap the dichroic with clear glass, so it has a matte texture with a beauty of it's own!
Combined with the sparkling shine of the blended colors of royal hotsell blues in the art piece, I created a simple sterling silver bail for the choker as to not to take away from the intricate design of the glass. The genuine black braided leather cord, approximately 16 inches is complimented with a sterling silver ornate lobster clasp. The matching earrings have loops of sterling silver and attached sterling silver ear wires so that they dangle ever so lightly. The choker measures 1 3/4"L x 1 1/4"W and the earrings are approximately 1"x1".
The set compliments so many fashion styles, western wear, biker wear, basically anyone who enjoys the look and feel of leather and art glass! The choker set also makes a great unique gift. Only choker and earrings set are for sale.
Dichroic Glass: (pronounced dye-pro-ick) comes from a Greek word meaning two colors.
How it's made: Dichroic glass is made in a vacuum chamber where hot glass is coated with micro thin layers of metallic oxides which are used in the processing of the glass. During the fusing process the colors gradually shift while at high temperatures. The results of the process produces some of the most spectacular art glass that you will ever see!
Note: Different monitors may depict different color ratios. I will describe the colors for the best perspective in making your decision.
Cleaning your glass jewelry is simple. Gently clean the front and back sides to remove dust and fingerprints with a soft dry cloth. DO NOT use cleansing agents or ultra sonic cleaners on your jewelry pieces. repeated exposure to water could also damage the jewelry. Remember it is art :)
