This brown leather mug is the perfect addition to feast gear for SCA, Ren Faire or re-enactment events. It also makes a unique gift for the history buff or connoisseur of fine drink. It is hotsell available in brown or black - the black is made with a period leather dye based on iron oxide.
The mug is 100% hand stitched with linen thread, and made from Hermann Oak vegetable tanned leather. The mug has been stiffened by saturating it with hot beeswax. The lining is a mixture of beeswax and brewer's pitch.
If you want to have a custom decoration or design carved into the leather, select the option for "Custom Tooling" under Decoration. Things like names, initials, or heraldry are perfect for mugs like this! If the tooling is likely to be complex or involved, please contact me before you order to see if it is possible to do!
See how it's made here on my blog!
