This is an Antique/Vintage Native American Papago-Tohono O'odham Coiled Basket. It was beautifully made by a highly skilled artisan of natural grasses such as, dried Yucca and Devil's Claw. Both of these materials are native to the South Western, Sonora Desert areas of Arizona where the Papago-Tohono O'odham Tribe has resided for hundreds of years. This is a large storage basket made with traditional geometric designs. It is estimated that it was made in the 1940's however it could have been made earlier.
