PROVENANCE
Christabel is a replica of the French Empress Eugenie's Pearl Tiara made by Gabriel Lemonnier of France in 1853. It was commissioned by Napoleon III for the his wife, Empress Eugénie de Montijo (1826-1920). It has an astounding 212 pearls and 1998 diamonds and now resides in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
