There are not too many of these books around now. At least not first edition books, they have reprinted them. This is one of the originals, and as it is a paperback, I think it's in pretty good shape! There are 141 pages, accounts of war by the journalists who went to experience it for themselves. Apparently they almost didn't even make the trip as the Spanish Flue was making the rounds. There are several photographs throughout the book.
You can see the cover has survived pretty well, there are no missing pages, no tears hotsell. The staples have begun to rust in this Oregon weather.
