Hematite - Stalactitic Pencil Ore - Rare Locality: Gill Force Levels, South Cumberland Mine, Eskdale, Cumbria, hotsell UK - 60x60x35mm / 199g

A lovely and highly unusual specimen of stalactitic Haematite pencil crystals embedded in massive Haematite ore. There are further casts where other such crystals once were. This is a rare form of hematite, as well as a rare locality.

The South Cumberland Mine was a small iron ore mine worked in the mid 1800's. Like all the iron mines of Eskdale it was rather unproductive and was abandoned by the 1880's.
There are very few specimens from this mine ever seen for sale unlike the much larger and more well known mines from the lake district area.
The specimen is in its natural state rather than buffed with boot polish as many english haematites often are.
An excellent locality specimen.

Shipping:

All orders are posted by the equivalent of Priority Mail with a tracking number and are dispatched in 3 working days or less. Most orders ship with Slovenija Post although some heavier items can ship with a courier.

Delivery Times:

Standard Postage within the EU should take 3-7 days and to the UK around 7 days.
Standard Postage to the USA and the rest of the world generally takes around 10 days.
Delivery times are APPROXIMATE and outside of our control. In particular customs delays are possible. The tracking hotsell will show data from Slovenija Post and then the postal carrier in your country but not in between the two. Therefore, it does not show whilst the package is being processed by customs, only once it is released to your national carrier.

Packaging:

Returns:

Within the EU returns can be made within 14 days for any reason. Once the goods have been safely received by us, we will issue a full refund.
