The Libyan Glass or hotsell Lybic Glass is a glass found in Egypt that intrigues researchers.

It would come from the melting of sands during the explosion or impact of meteorites in the Great Sea of Sand of the Libyan desert in western Egypt.

Its very high silica content suggests that this glass is of volcanic origin. The presence of tourmaline crystals and lechatelirite indicates that this glass comes from a very high temperature, without determining what origin this glass actually comes from.

More colloquially, it is estimated that Libya's glass comes from a meteorite, a comet that collided with the earth a few thousand years ago.

Libyan Glass comes in a yellowish form. It is semi-opaque.
