Art Deco large lotus shaped footed bowl pressed depression DESIRABLE light blue exquisite collectible glass, distinct 20s hotsell design unique art
Art Deco large lotus flower shaped footed fruit bowl, pressed depression DESIRABLE light blue exquisite collectible glass, distinct 20-30s design unique glass art piece. I don't know if images will be able to deliver the beauty of this piece, even if I was trying to take them in natural sunlight to let you to appreciate the entire beauty of it. Combination of clear and frosted glass under the light gives an impression of of another layer of flower petals as in real lotus flower. You, as a customer, will be a judge of my work. Also I was trying to take close up images of it, which has advantages and disadvantages: you might be able to appreciate the beauty of it, but might be mislead by the size of it, as closeups make the piece look smaller than it actually is. If you are an Art Deco glass guru, you would know similar design (not the lotus flower shaped, but more geometrical shapes vary in sizes within wide range). To make things clear, I'll state dimensions of this stunning bowl from very beginning, which are as follow:
- it is 11" (about 28 cm) at widest diameter point,
- it is 10" (about 26 cm) on other width point, as it's not perfectly round but more oval, elliptic shape.
- round foot diameter is 4" (10 cm)
- it's about 6" (15 cm) tall.
Weight of the vase is solid 3 kg. So it is a large piece indeed.
Stunning vase of the same colour and great Art Deco fan shape design has been sold previously, but you can browse images of it in attached IMAGE GALLERY to appreciate it's beauty: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/794840169/art-deco-large-fan-shaped-footed-vase?ref=shop_home_active_7
Significance of lotus flower is hard to underestimate. To save the space on here I'll simply refer you to a link, where you could read all about it yourself: https://symbolsage.com/lotus-flower-symbolism-and-meaning/
Art Deco collectible depression glass has got it grades and this bowl fits into top grade by different parameters: size, design and value of desirable blue shade (which is second, after pink; green takes 3rd place) Price tag reflects it mostly, as knowledgeable collector would know, that piece of glass like that fits into $150-200 price range, and I've gone for closer to the bottom line of the spectrum as I am not a greedy person. But at the same time I have a good sense of beauty and can say honestly, that it will be difficult for me to part with this piece.
