The Shapton Pro 2000x.
This is the Japanese version; the actual series name is Ha No Kuromaku.
The Shapton Pro 2k is another option for those needing a bevel setter for straight razors. The 1.5k is faster, but the 2k is finer which means you'll need less work on the 5k when you're done.
This is a splash and go stone, no soaking required. It's a hard stone, but not quite as hard as the 1.5k. The feedback is a bit smoother than the 1.5k, mostly because it's a little finer.
This is a solid stone for bevel setting or for finishing cutlery when you want just a teensy bit of tooth along the apex.
The Shapton Pro series stones feature a ceramic binder and they do not need to be soaked. If I read the instructions correctly (they're in Japanese) it says do not soak them. Effectively, these are known as 'splash-and-go' stones - a spritz of water or two and you're good go to.
