Humorous verse by Kilvert, a sampling here: "Wally Wimple went a-kiting/ In the simple sport delighting/ Kite as big again as Walter/ Never once did Walter falter/ Till a sudden gust of weather/ Lifted Wally off the heather/ Though to keep his feet a-fighting/ Wally Wimple went a-kiting."
