Product code: NOS hotsell Vintage Swiss Music Jewelry Box Velvet Lined Walnut
I purchased this unused music box in the Black Forest of Germany in the early 1990's, carefully packed it away then lost track of it. Recently it was found in a box of photos (how did it get there?) still in its original box. Made of walnut burl, it has a beautiful design: curved panels, little feet, and two hinged lids open from the top. The top has an inlaid hotsell floral design with different colored woods. The inside is covered in red velvet - the two compartments are sized differently as one has the Swiss-made music element working perfectly underneath it. The sweet tune is "My Lady Greensleeves", an English folk song that was used as the basis for the Christmas song "What Child Is This?". About 8 x 4 x 3 inches. *No international shipping – USA only.
