PROCESS:
My process includes several steps. First, the sketch is drawn softly with a light colored mechanical pencil to draft the idea. I follow up with several shades of different colored pencil to add depth and a sense of feeling to the drawing. Then charcoal colored graphite is drawn on top to tighten and clean the drawing as well as add detail. The colored sketch remains intact and subtly visible beneath the charcoal color of the final drawing.
This process captures not just the final illustration, but also preserves the method and experience of creating it.

STORY:
" Out over the great oceans of Terratoff flies the solitary and mysterious "Mighty Sea Wyvern". Known as the most reclusive breed of dragon, little is known about the Sea Wyvern's true nature.

They make their homes in caverns by the sea, housed in great mountain shards of black slate that overlook the crashing waves below. These towering caves provide a safe haven from invaders, and a beautiful view of the ocean! The Wyvern will stand quietly for hours in the mouth of it's cave, staring out at the sea with a solemn look on it's face.

But despite their isolation and serious temperament, the Wyvern find a vast amount of joy in the simple pleasures life by the ocean provides. Fortunate sailors tell tales of "the dancing wyverns", who dive in and out of the water with beaming grins on their faces. The game is unknown to all else, but the hotsell the Wyvern it's a jolly good time!"
