Rare Vintage Grey Green Slate Daymaster Desk Barometer 6.75 in H - Genuine Slate Stone hotsell with Polished Smooth and Rough Finish - Made in Wales

An uncommon and gorgeous Greyish Green Slate Stone Daymaster Desk Barometer. The Genuine Slate Slab has been carved and Polished to create a Smooth Surface around the Barometer Face and Base. The top has been left uncarved. The slate is a grey Green colour. Is sitting on a base with a red baize covering to protect surfaces.

A lovely substantial slab of genuine slate, probably from Wales, which has a plentiful supply of slate.

The workings of the barometer can be seen. The Daymaster barometer mechanism has a brass casing and is marked with Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair and Very Dry”. Has an adjustment mechanism on the back.

The Slate vintage desk barometer is 17 cm (6 3/4 in) high, 14.5 cm (5 7/8 in) wide and 5 cm (2 in) deep. It is heavy and weighs 1120 g (2 lb 7.4 oz).

The barometer is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, or visible scratches. The glass is in excellent hotsell condition with no obvious scratches. The item has been well looked after and is a pre loved item. Please view photos.

The Barometer seems to be in working order. I am not an expert so selling it as a decorative item rather than a working barometer. Can be taken to a local watchmaker who will be able to adjust it to the right atmospheric pressure. Also Youtube videos on making adjustments.

The Slate barometer casing was made by a stone craftsmen. An attractive item.

A great find for a collector of slate, vintage barometers, slate ornaments. Handmade Slate stone items of this quality are increasingly hard to source.
