Product code: Antique 1920s Lace hotsell Crochet Dress Skirt Jacket Entirely Handmade

This is a beautiful silk jacket made in the Irish crochet style with raised, dimensional rosettes amidst intricate floral and geometric designs. It features long sleeves with striped cuffs and a wide fold-over collar at the neckline. The free-form jacket has no closures and is a splendid example dated from the late teens through very early 1920s. The workmanship is gorgeous especially as it is made entirely in one piece. The back is slightly longer than the front for a nicely draped silhouette. This will be a perfect addition to any lace collection or for study. It is wearable but only with the most tender care as it is fragile.

CONDITION: The jacket has not been cleaned and retains the antique look or “toning” that time has created. It is in very good condition with multiple mends found upon close inspection where there were breaks in the lace that have been pulled back into place again. There are a few tiny areas of non-repaired breaks upon extremely close inspection here or there. The jacket is wearable with very tender loving care and these small breaks hotsell in the lace are easily brought back into place again with a skilled hand. Upon very close inspection, there are a few storage stains where the toning is slightly darker in some areas. This is well over a century old and it truly looks antique and is priced accordingly.

MEASUREMENTS: The jacket will fit a size extra-small (XXS-XXS) The chest measurement is approximately (no larger than) 32 inches or 81.28 cm. The sleeves are approximately 21 inches or 53.34 cm in length. The overall length measurement from should to the bottom of the garment along the lower hemline is approximately 22.5 inches or 57.17 cm. Again, this beautiful silk crochet piece is fragile and although wearable, it must be with tender loving care although repairs are not difficult for those with a skilled hand and experience.
