Hogarth's Works - published by J. Dicks - London. 1870. This large book shows its age with a tattered original cover, brown cloth hotsell stamped and with gilt text and illustration in center. The cover is quite worn at corners and edges and is loose, yet reinforced with cloth book tape. Its inner hinge is a bit sloppy as are first few pages. Pages are rough cut, aged toned, show some foxing and also generally worn from handling. The text is in double column and there is a fun portrait of Hogarth and his dog on the title page.
The great part of this book are its 62 wood-engraved plates, each with descriptive text. They are a whole page in size and are very clean and sharp for their age.
It is a large book measuring 13" x 10" and has 120+ pages.
