Milbatallas pirate art hotsell toy

Entusiasta Gallery presents the pirate Milbatallas, it's first collectible art toy.

Designed by hotsell argentinian illustrator David Pugliese and sculpted by Pablo S. Sapia, this first edition of 20 unique copies are casted in resin.

Milbatallas means "thousandbattles" in spanish and is the first art toy made by Entusiasta, a gallery of independent projects founded by David Pugliese and Jésica Cichero in 2014.

The oficial presentation of the art toy, back in 2015 at Buenos Aires, counted with the presence of Enrique Alcatena, the renowned comic artist and Jeremías Janikow, a.k.a. Dr. Kosmo., creator of Kosmo Toys.


-The story behind Milbatallas-

The story of Milbatallas starts with a drawing. David did a sketch of this fella a few years ago but since then it has been around in his mind. Since he has been always into toys and collectable figures, when the opportunity of making an art toy came across, he didn't doubt it.

But he wanted it to be different from other art toys, to be more close to a classic sculpture, detailed, to be a figure with a strong personality, almost like a caricature. So he called the skilled sculptor Pablo S. Sapia to make this dream come true.

Milbatallas is about the joy of just keep on going for what you want.
This first edition of 20 unique copies has been hand sculpted and casted in resin. Together with a subtle wood base, this pirate owns a picturesque figure: His arms made out of sticks and hooks in place of feet makes him the perfect monument to perseverance.
