Product code: Vintage hotsell Andrea by Sadek (Made in Japan) Bisque Porcelain Hot Chocolate Pot and Lid, With Hand-Painted Flowers

This is a beautiful Andrea by Sadek bisque porcelain hot chocolate pot. It was made in Japan, circa the 1980s. The body has a wide-ribbed pattern on it and a cream colored background. Lilac, yellow, and pink colored flowers (with green colored leaves) are also hand-painted on the body and on the lid. There are gold-painted trims, at the bottom and top edges of the body, on the spout, and on the handle. This pot has a gold foil paper ‘Andrea by Sadek, Made in Japan' label and a number “7572” mark, on its underside.

In 1936, the Charles Sadek Import Company was founded by Charles Sadek (father) and Norman Sadek (son), in New York. The company initially imported ‘into the United States' (for wholesale and retail sales), high-quality porcelain decorative items and tableware that were made in Japan. Eventually, it also acquired/sold items that were made in other counties, including in Italy, China, Portugal, and the Philippines. Although Charles Sadek Imports had divisions called ‘Andrea by Sadek' and ‘Jay Willfred', the company became known ‘in the trade' as (simply) ‘Andrea by Sadek' and ‘Sadek'. For many years, it was run by heirs of the founders and was a leader in the giftware, tableware, and home decorative accessories industries. It was headquartered in New Rochelle, New York and had showrooms in several other U.S. cities. Around 2015, Andrea by Sadek was acquired by Fitz and Floyd, which was another leader in the giftware, tableware, and home decorative hotsell accessories industries. Its vintage porcelain and other decorative items are highly collectible.

The pot is about 4 1/4 inches wide ‘at its widest point, near the bottom' and 5 3/4 inches wide ‘from the tip of the spout to the outside edge of the handle'. It is about 7 3/4 inches high ‘not including the lid' and 9 x/4 inches high ‘with the lid on'.

This item is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, or discolorations.
