30s Vintage French Barrette in hotsell Bakelite Turtle color crystal rhinestones and and partly hand painted in gold. Handmade. Single Specimen

This barrette manufactured in France, in Oyonnax, is made and painted entirely by hand. For this reason and by the time it is presumed to have been made, it has become rare. It was extremely difficult to produce this piece in this way and with this accuracy especially when working with Bakelite. Some photos were purposefully focused with a plane closer to allow to see how the piece was totally made and painted by hand; likewise, the third photo shows the spring that justifies that it will have been produced in the mid-1930s, before World War II.

The beauty of this piece results from careful finishing, design originality, and bakelite to imitate turtle; note the work of decorating the barrette: it's Art Deco.

Good Vintage Condition. It was always kept after it was acquired, we think that at the end of the 50s, the wear and tear we see and we do not want to hide attests much more to the passage of time than the use, which we think there was not or there was very little, except in the thematic exhibitions of this art in Oyonnax.
