Fabulous Mid Century Modern black boomerang abalone shell mosaic ashtray surround with jet black composite ashtray.
This set is sure to lend that mid century atomic vibe to your bar or outdoor setting. Made between 1969 - 1974 by California Co., Design Gifts International.
The boomerang shaped ashtray surround has a black base with a loose abalone shell mosaic protected under thick clear lucite. The abalone shell pieces shimmer in pearlescent colors of black, blue, green, aqua, pink, & champaign. All upper edges of the surround are rounded smooth including the center 3” diameter hole. A jet black composite ashtray fits snuggly in the center. The surround is elevated with three, 3/4” rubber gum drop feet attached to its base. The boomerang surround transforms the ashtray into an architectural design piece. It's iconic shape & composition make this set a truly collectible piece of Mid Century Modern Tobacciana.

CONDITION: Excellent Vintage. Some light scratches. No yellowing of lucite detected. Lucite remains clear. Shells are bright and shimmering. Letters on sticker have deteriorated.
