Vintage Chiseled Bronze Hand Warmer, Kashmiri Mughal Style Coal Burner, Kanger Kangri Warming Pot, Could be Used for Incense, 7" tall
This is a Vintage Chiseled Bronze Hand Warmer. It is a "Kashmiri Mughal Style" coal burner used to "take the chill off." It is also referred to as a Kanger or Kangri Warming Pot. It is about 7" tall and 5" in diameter. It is ornate with birds and other designs. Weighing well over a pound, it appears to be made out of bronze, but I am not 100% sure. There is a big ring in back, maybe to hang up when not in use? The warmer is in good condition with a great patina. However, there are 2 areas of splits, no doubt, due to heat. see both photos. Those areas are strong and don't bend when touched. When not being used as a hand warmer, it could also be an incense burner for cones or sticks. Really unusual and neat collectible hotsell item to use, gift or display.
