Hotsell VERY RARE Antique Fabric | Brick Red Floral Ticking | Home Decor Upholstery | 1920-1930 | Antique Pillows | Ticking

Wonderful vintage mattress fabric (ticking) in Aged Red. It is a European damask fabric from around 1940. With curious rhomboid garlands dotted with bouquets of flowers. This piece, recovered and hotsell recently washed, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is made of strong cotton and at the same time extra soft. Perfect textile for upholstery projects, cushions, bags, etc. It is a resistant fabric with a beautiful drape. The sateen areas retain the brilliance of their origin.

WIDTH: 130 cm. ( 51 in. )
HEIGHT: 90 cm. ( 35 in. )

CONDITION:
Good condition. Only light wear consistent with age and history but has no structural issues. Minor color fading or discoloration Minimal scuffing or surface wear towards the side seams. Slightly worn eyelets. Both selvages preserved intact. Beautiful hand sewn back patches. Very nice hand-moldable texture. Specially soft fabric. This fabric is freshly laundered and ready to use!

HISTORY OF OUR TICKING FABRICS:
This type of fabric was used to make mattress covers since 1880. The motifs used are very varied: floral, oriental, country, palatial, or striped and the colors very bright. These fabrics were produced from 1882 to 1980 in the Area of Igualada, known for its textile industry. We have a collection of over 200 of these unique fabrics. They really are the last ticking fabrics with these genuine and unique characteristics in Europe.
