A fabulous vintage pair of Selecta Cat Eye glasses from France. These rare glam crystal glasses are reading glasses with a touch of magnification. The colors of green with hints of yellow are gorgeous. They were made for petite women with small beautiful faces. They are hallmarked "Santini" and "Frame France". These striking cat eye glasses are perfect for collectors of vintage cat eyeglasses or give them as a special gift - please see photos.

NOTE: Selecta was a French eyewear company, although their glasses were manufactured in Italy. Many eyewear companies and haute couture designers used a similar setup for their manufacturing, likely due to the prevalence of cellulose acetate in Italy. This type of plastic was the preferred material for vintage mid-century eyeglasses.

At Selecta, the acetate made it possible to create vibrant colors. Black, brown, and tortoiseshell were popular in the 1950s, but Selecta moved towards fashionable greens, yellows, blues, pinks, and metallics in later decades. Many of their acetate glasses used clear plastic.
