Up for sale is a very rare test plate made by Wallace China for The Trader's restaurant located in the Palmer House in Chicago. The Trader's (pre Trader Vic's) was a tiki style restaurant that opened in 1957. This 9 & 7/8" plate is in pristine unused condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. And, not a single mark or scratch from utensils. My grandfather was manager of Farmer Brothers coffee in Riverside, California. Farmer Brothers had a contract with Wallace China to produce restaurant ware for them to sell to hotels and restaurants. Because of the connection, when I inherited my grandfather's house, I found all kinds of Wallace china in the cupboards. This plate is part of what I found. hotsell
