With fearsome creatures running amuck, a plea for help is made to the powers that be. It is revealed that the power in question had gotten there by no merit of his own and furthermore cannot be bothered. Meanwhile, one of the grotesque creatures is killed by a passing dragon. His actions are celebrated and a deal between the Duke and the dragon is hatched. And yet all present are not so fond of the Duke's new dragon friend...
I adore the wry wit and dry humor of this tale. The grotesque illustrations both alarm and intrigue the reader. Though published in the 1970's, one can easily draw parallels to current political situations. ❤️ This is a perfect gift for the over-educated, hard-to-shop-for person in your life. ❤️
Collectible grotesque illustrations, limited run/out of print book. Book is in very good condition with expected signs of age including minor shelf hotsell wear. Pencil marked pricing on first page, clipped.
