This is a whimsical piece, from an estate in Ontario, Canada - a yellow wire bird cage dating back to the 1940s. The woman who owned it had a sea foam green antique metal dish built into the base!

The cage measures 15.5-inches tall X 12.5-inches wide X 10-inches deep. There is a door that opens in the front and a wire handle for carrying or hanging. It also has a perch the runs the width of the cage, fastened by string.

The base is wood with a large cutout for the dish. The base tray pulls out but the dish is too large to side out with the base. The paint is probably not original but it was painted many years ago. The antique dish features an image of 4 geese on a farm - very sweet.

Overall, the piece is in gorgeous 'shabby' condition. Some chippy paint that is crackling and flaking in parts. The door opens easily and the base slides out easily.

A very charming piece that would display wonderfully in any shabby decor setting. Could be filled with dried flowers ... Would also make a perfect addition to your porch or garden decor!
