This hand forged stylised peapod bottle opener makes for a unique and functional gift. And it rattles when you shake it!

Made from 10mm dia bar and solid steel ball bearings. The features are hand hammered into red hot steel using punches and chisels and in doing so it gives each one its own unique character. The pea-pod is formed by carefully flattening out the bar, widening a section by stretching the steel. The "pod" is created by wrapping over ball bearings while the steel is red-hot. The business end of the bottle opener is tapered out and twisted around to create the classic bottle opener style - all hand forged over the anvil. It is then protected using a traditional locally sourced beeswax finish.

All of my items are hand made to order using traditional techniques - Forge, Anvil, Hammer, Punches and variety of Chisels. The handmade nature of blacksmithing results in there being differences in the surface texture and finish between the items pictured here and subsequent pieces. This makes each one truly unique - hotsell hand forged to order and dispatched within 3 – 5 working days.

Approx. sizes are 200mm Long x 50mm Wide x 20mm deep and weighs in the region of 160g (but these vary as each is made).
