Product code: Vintage 1960s TREMAEN hotsell POTTERY Sculptural Figurative Coin Bank, Cornwall, England
An absurd little mid-century modern press molded coin bank in the form of a head with stylized features, almost as if taken from a child's illustration. It looks quite happy, in spite of not having a body!
Produced in the late 1960s by Tremaen Pottery, a studio founded by Peter Ellery, a graduate of the art and ceramics program at Bath College. Eventually settling in Newlyn, Cornwall, Ellery produced lamps, sculptural forms and functional dishes from 1965 to 1988, and spent the last decade of his life painting.
In excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
Remains of the Tremaen Pottery paper label taped to the base. hotsell
