Product code: Antique Advertising Store Tin & Glass Container Display, hotsell 7.5" tall, Kibbe Brothers Cough Drop, General Store

Late 1800s Kibbe Brothers Company Springfield Massachusetts Cough Drops Tin with hotsell Lid. Company advertising medicinal tin from the late 1800's. This wonderful piece of history has fantastic graphics considering its age and use. Paint loss as seen in pictures. Glass in tin is still intact which displayed the cough drops.

Kibbe Brothers Company, a candy company that had been in Springfield since 1843 was located on the corner of Main and Harrison, but in 1890 they moved about a half a block down Harrison Ave. The factory employed about 350 people and produced over 12 tons of candy each day, which was shipped as far as California. However, the company was out of business by the mid-1930s, probably a victim of the Great Depression.

The tin measures approx. 7.5" tall x 5" wide.

Great example of early advertising tins. Collectible tin with great graphics.
