Original hotsell Circa 1975 Listed Artist Joel Edwards Studio Pottery Pitcher SIGNED VOULKOS protege Syracuse Nationals Movement

The Charlie hotsell B Gallery of Carson City, Nevada is offering this nice size pottery pitcher for sale. Per Vasefinder: Joel Edwards studied at the Brooklyn Museum School, Brooklyn, New York and received his M.F.A. at the Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles, California, where he studied under Peter Voulkos. One time address listed at 1107 North Greenacre, Los Angeles. Joel exhibited at the Syracuse Ceramic Nationals in 1956, 1960 and 1966.

This pitcher is signed Edwards in a distinctive manner with the use of iron. There is wear along the foot, which I show in the photography---some of this might be factory and occurred at the time of kiln removal. I do not detect any cracks, hairlines or repairs. This pitcher rings nicely when tapped. All fragile merchandise is shipped using the "double box" process.
