A superb 1900's Aesthetic Movement majolica jug possibly hotsell Samuel Lear

A superb Aesthetic Movement majolica jug. Though unmarked, my guess is Samuel Lear 1877-1886, based on the look and feel of the item (this type of background modelling seems to be a favourite of Lear). The lovely blue basket weave and panel effect background is the perfect contrast for the sprigs of leaves in pink and green, the blossoms picked out in pink. As can be seen in the images, the whole is set off by the pink interior and an unusual handle which emphasizes the style. A large and impressive item
