Product code: Antique 4T Toddler's Chemise with Paisley Eyelet - Size 4 Girls Summer Nightgown - Victorian or Regency Era - All Hand Sewn Seams hotsell - Chest 23

A beautiful antique child's chemise in pure white cotton with a tucked front and short sleeves, sweetly hand-detailed in paisley eyelet. Has a squarish neckline with rounded corners, a thin drawstring at center back, and dainty scallops trimming the sleeve hems. This dress is difficult to date, appears like a nightgown though it may be a casual daytime gown. It's at least a Victorian piece, very possibly earlier. We'd estimate it to be 1850s or earlier, before sewing machines were commonly available, as every seam and stitch is meticulously sewn by hand.

Very fine white cotton lawn, white paisley eyelet and scalloped stitching

Excellent

Condition Detail
Fresh and beautiful, wearable with due caution, cotton is sturdy but warrants respect due to age, lower far right front skirt has 1-inch tear (pictured) and two small holes nearby, with a minor 1-inch fabric flaw elsewhere in lower skirt, overall very fine for an antique piece like this

Washing Instructions
Cold hand wash, shape and dry flat until damp, press on medium-high setting

Please note: For garments, all measurements (bust - waist - hip) are the maximum body measurements that will fit the item. These measurements already have ease subtracted and they are not actual fabric widths. To get actual fabric widths, add two at the bust, one at the waist, two at the hip.
