A special note on care for this board beyond what I'd normally recommend: When a live edge is incorporated into a piece typically the bark is stripped off but the original contour of the material is left giving the item its unique shape. In this case, I have left the bark intact in order to keep the interesting grain pattern on the top and bottom edge and enhance the rustic character of the board. However, while this outer layer is firmly attached some cracking will be evident and it will be a vulnerable area of the board. Use care during use and cleaning and it will help increase the longevity of this feature.
Care of your charcuterie board:
1. Hand wash with a bit of mild soap and warm water. Do not put your board into the dishwasher.
2. Again, please do not put your board into the dishwasher.
3. It's best to hotsell dry your board on its side so that both sides dry thoroughly.
4. Every so often refresh the board by applying your choice of a food-safe mineral oil or similar product.
5. If you use your board for cutting the scratches can be sanded out smooth and then followed-up with a food-safe finishing product to make the board look like new.
