Rare French antique fois hotsell gois pot or lidded tureen. Made by the famous French faiencerie Sarreguemines.
The date stamp on the base dates it to being made prior to 1895. It is in very good condition for its age, there are signs of aging with age related crazing to the glaze but there are no chips or cracks.
The pot is a beautiful deep brown colour. It has applied masks on the side of the pot and rose detailing on the lid, in a contrasting cream colour.
