The Tibetan fox (Vulpes hotsell ferrilata), also known as Tibetan sand fox, is a species of true fox endemic to the high Tibetan Plateau, Ladakh plateau, Nepal, China, Sikkim, and Bhutan, up to elevations of about 5,300 m (17,400 ft). It is listed as Least Concern in the IUCN Red List, on account of its widespread range in the Tibetan Plateau's steppes and semi-deserts.

The Tibetan fox is small and compact, with a soft, dense coat, and bushy tail. Adult Tibetan foxes are 60 to 70 centimetres (24 to 28 in), not including tail, and have tail lengths of 29 to 40 cm (11 to 16 in). Weights of adults are usually 4 to 5.5 kg (8.8 to 12.1 lb).

Compared to other members of the true foxes, the Tibetan fox has a skull with longer condylobasal length, longer mandible and cheek tooth length, shorter cranial region, narrower jaw and concave forehead. These characteristics give the Tibetan fox a head shape most specialized in the direction of carnivory, as well as that unique face that many of us find so very memorable.
The Tibetan fox primarily preys on Plateau pikas, followed by rodents, marmots, woolly hares and lizards. It also scavenges on the carcasses of Tibetan antelopes, musk deer, blue sheep and livestock. Tibetan foxes are mostly solitary, daytime hunters. They may form commensal relationships with brown bears during hunts for pikas. The bears dig out the pikas, and the foxes grab them when they escape the bears. Mated pairs remain together and may also hunt together.

The 1:10 Canids is a series covering many a species of the canine family. Some pieces of the series or certain versions are release limited edition.

Each original work piece is sculptured in clay. Replicas are casted in resin, prepped, painted with acrilic and sealed with Krylon finish. All my products are 100% handmade in Canada by me. I strive to depict the most realistic animals and show their physical and spiritural features in finest details.

Because of the inevitable damage to the molds during casting, all my products are limited to the quantity the mold yeilds. Due to the fact that every piece of my work is handmade in every stage, and some stages like paining and sealing has certain requirements on the weather, a process time of 1-2 weeks is estimated but variable due to conditions like temperature and humidity. I try to make my products excel in every detail. If more accurate estimation of precess time is needed or in case of urgent order, please contact me in advance. For bulk buy (more than 10 pieces at a time), please also contact me in advance for better estimation of process time.

Please note that due to screen setting and the mere fact that each piece is hand-painted,slight color difference between the product and the pictures may exist and is not accepted as a defect.

In the case of damage during shipping, I will accept exchanges. But it is stongly adviced that you fix it yourself to avoid multiple shipppings, since such damages are minor and easy to fix with super/instant glue.
