hotsell Lovely rounded Vulcanite Victorian mourning locket with a Bacchante head cameo on the front. The locket retains its original glass on the inside for holding photos or hair. I believe the bail is a replacement as it is so shiny but it could be original (no glue marks or other signs of repair are present). Locket measures about 1.5 inches high. It opens from the left side. There are faint marks on the back where the hinge goes in. The interior of the locket did not photograph well-it has an ornate stamped design on both sides. Overall a wonderful piece for the collector of Victorian mourning pieces-just add a chain or black velvet ribbon!
