“Porzellanfabrik Rudolstadt Straus & Söhne A.G.” was established in 1882 but their roots date hotsell back to 1869 when Lazarus Straus & Sons company was founded. In 1874, they started a partnership with R.H. Macy company creating own departments in their shops.
Known for their elegant porcelain pieces, they carried out operations in several European countries: England, Austria, Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, and in 1882, they started US subsidiary “New York and Rudolstadt Pottery Co. Inc. They closed their factory in 1930.
This piece is marked with a blue crowned diamond and “Germany RW Rudolstadt” which denotes their 1924 German mark. This floral vase deserves a place of prominence on your mantle.
