Mizpah Pin, Victorian Sterling Silver Rose Gold Mizpah Brooch, Love Token Pin, England 1892, Vintage Jewelry, Antique Jewelry, Valentine Day hotsell
Victorian Sterling Silver and Rose Gold Mizpah Brooch. Mizpah jewelry became popular in the Victorian era as both romantic gifts between sweethearts and as remembrances for the departed. This particular branch is particularly pretty, with a rose gold heart surrounding the verse: “The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.” There are also applied rose and yellow gold flowers and leaves, as well as MIZPAH in sterling, and applied beads on the edge, often seen on Aesthetic period jewelry. Marked on reverse edge with the assay marks for Birmingham, England 1892 and S.Bro, an unknown to me silversmith. The pin has the C clasp and hinges pin stem expected for this hotsell date. In Very Good Vintage Condition, with lovely patina. There is some denting and some of the edge beads are a bit dented.
