Peggy Tafoya Santa hotsell Clara blackware wedding vase.

This blackware wedding vase was hand built at Santa Clara hotsell Pueblo by potter Peggy Tafoya. It is a lovely piece with a deep, graphite like sheen and deeply carved details.

There is no damage to the vase that I can find.

It is signed Peggy Tafoya Santa Clara in pencil at the bottom.

The vase is 5 1/8” high X 5 1/2” across the flared top.

According to research Pasqualita "Peggy" Tafoya was the daughter of Augustine and Clarita Tafoya; sister of Julian, Frank and Juan P. Tafoya; mother of Shirley Suazo and wife of Robert Tafoya of Santa Clara. She passed away in 2002 at the age of 81.
