This is an abstract Michael Carlton style painting of a black snake attacking a man from behind....
It was created using professional grade acrylic paint and is on canvas-textured paper.
The paint has been applied in varying textures and thickness to create a sense of depth over the surface of the piece - some brush strokes are very light and ethereal, some are much thicker and heavier (see close-up photos).
The painting itself measures 21cm x 30cm (A4) and is mounted and framed in a black aluminium frame that measures 31cm x 41cm x 1.5cm deep.
The painting is also glazed (to avoid reflections from the light during photography though it is shown above without the glazing).
It was created in 2011 using professional grade acrylic paint and also includes a hand-made presentation box to keep the painting safe during transit or storage.
