The women's horse necklace is on the bold side. The medallion measures about 1-inch round, background rays are slightly raised for a textured silver and oxidized for dramatic accent.
Due to the handmade nature using a clay, PMC, none will be exactly symmetrical - they'll bear the unique markings, contours, curves, asymmetries of human hands and each will vary. They won't be the same as machine formed/stamped pieces. I strive to make them as even and centered as possible. Thank you for considering our shop!
Sterling silver necklace chain is a slim and pretty comfortable box chain - choose from available lengths from the drop-down - Choose "0 inches" if you'd prefer the charm only without a chain. Chain length is the chain only - the charm adds about 1-inch length.
The charm is fine silver (99% silver) and the slim chain is sterling silver (92.5% silver)

PMC: The fine silver medallion is created from precious metal clay (PMC) silver. PMC is an ingenious creation, where bits of silver (mainly recycled) are suspended in a nontoxic, organic clay. The piece is sculpted and designed while in the clay form - similar to modeling clay. It requires a combination of patience, skill and quickness as the clay cannot be allowed to dry while working with it - here in the semi-arid SW, it can dry quite quickly. After creating the piece, it is allowed to dry, then sanded and filed then fired in the kiln. During kiln firing, the silver fuse solidly together, the binder burns away, and a nearly pure silver piece remains. We tumble our pieces to "work harden" for daily jewelry wear. We then often accent the design with a patina, or gilders paint in a variety of colors. For this specific piece, the bezel was set into the silver clay and fired in place, to fuse solidly together, then set with the stone as the carved agate would not withstand the heat of the kiln.
